Dr. Weil Suggests Bone Soup For Dogs

There’s a myth that dogs can only have dry foods. However, Dr. Helena Weil of has used used a series of different foods on her dogs. She has been working with dogs for over thirty years. She recommends a super-food for dogs called bone soup, or bone broth.  This super food that is very inexpensive and has a ton of nutrients and it give your dog a ton of benefits that will help it live a long productive life.

With the implementation of bone within the stewing process, the outcome will produce a positive effect on overall health.

Below are five reasons Dr. Helena Weil gives for giving your dog bone soup.

1. Excellent for Joints

Bone soup an amazing amounts of glucosamine, chondroitin, and hyaluronic acid.  These compounds help protect the dogs’ joints. Another benefit is glycosaminoglycan from bone soup are resistant to digestion and is absorbed in their intact form almost immediately. According to Dr. Cate Shanahan, author of Deep Nutrition, they act stimulate fibroblasts, which produces collagen in the joints, tendons, ligaments, and even the arteries.

2. Helps The Liver Detox

A healthy liver is essential in the detoxification of the dog’s body. The dog’s liver has to work extra hard because of the daily exposure to carpets and chemicals on the floors, walking outside, and coming into contact with various sprays. Not to mention the toxic and synthetic ingredients in their foods, water, and supplements.
Bone soup has a ton of glycine with is limited in the dogs body.  Glycine aids in helping the liver remove the toxics in the dogs’ body. Glycine also helps regulate the synthesis of bile salts and gastric acid secretion.

3. Promotes A Healthy Gut

Bone soup has a ton of gelatin, which will help plug up and reduce holes in the intestine lining of your dog.  Undigested food matter, toxins, and yeast could pass through these holes causing leaky gut, food sensitivities, and allergies.

A healthy daily diet has been scientifically proven to extend the lifespan of dogs.

4. Bone Broth Is Great Nutrition For Sick Dogs

If your dog has diarrhea, bone soup can replenish the missing nutrients especially if your dog doesn’t have an appetite. Some experts suggest feeding your dog bone soup 2-3 times daily mixed with a powdered probiotic.

5. Excellent Protein Source

Because of the high gelatin content of the bone soup, you can reduce your dogs need for meat based protein as much as 50%. In addition, bone soup is an excellent source of many minerals and can improve your dog’s immune system.

Understand GMO’s in Our Food Chain

This past few weeks, the Food and Drug Administration added more GMO’s to the US food supply when they officially approved the sale of genetically modified salmon.

Most retailers like Safeway, have already declared that they have no intention of selling the fish, but consumers say it won’t be long before it shows up in the supermarkets.

According to Helena Weil, Ph. D., (a vocal opponent of GMO foods), that’s the end of this week, they will have once again a new debate about the GMO label.

Part Three: The Campbell and GMO’s

The most encouraging news about food is the Campbell Soup decision to label their food products that has any ingredients that are genetically modified organisms (GMO).

According to NPR report, there is a letter posted on Campbell’s website talking about the response of the CEO of Campbell Soup Denise Morrison regarding the desires of consumers and also on how to eliminate the conflict demands for GMO labeling. He said “Printing a clear and simple statement on the label is the best solution for consumers and for Campbell,”.

Part Two: Can Chipotle Make Comeback?

In the past, there had been a food story released that was involved with the FBI investigation into the food poisoning at Chipotle Restaurant.

Indeed, there are lots of customers who love to eat at the Chipotle Restaurant because of fast services and full value meal of non GMO food sources. But recently, because of the news that came up about food poisoning they have lost their customers.

The Chipotle Restaurant promises to resolve the problem and serve the right food.
